CIM IOP-Compliance
This working group is concerned with the definition, specification and measurement of compliance with the CIM standard and the process of validation of that compliance. The group relies on documents maintained by the UCA International Users Group and the CIM Users Group, as well as standards maintained by the IEC and others.
Responsibilities of this working group include:
- Identification of the relevant CIM, IEC, and related standards against which compliance is measured
- Identification of the major types of test on which compliance testing is focused
- Development of critical definitions
- Determining product compliance
- Development of supporting documentation
- Extend this process to actual testing and recognition of successful results
- Development of a vendor recognition program
- Recommendation of the tools that will be used for validation
The IEEE Standard ANSI / IEEE Std. 7291983 defines “validation” and “verification” as:
Validation: the process of evaluating the software at the end of the software development process to ensure compliance with software requirements;
Verification:the process of determining whether or not the products of a given phase of the software development cycle fulfill the requirements established during the previous phase.
